MCC swimmers defeat Alfred State

ROCHESTER - The MCC men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned a pair of dual-meet victories, defeating regional foe Alfred State.

The Tribunes men (3-1) prevailed 113-77, while the Monroe ladies (4-0) won 112-12.

Matt Caputo (Renton, VA/Kentridge) paced the men with a pair of wins.  The sophomore placed first in the 50 free (23.66) and the 100 free (53.61).  Tore Hansen (Skoutianten, Denmark/Handelsskolen) also won twice, taking the 200 IM (2:12.25) and the 100 back (59.96).

Ashley Dubois (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) won two event for the women, placing first in the 100 fly (1:10.64) and the 100 breast (1:16.52).  Kassady Cerny (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) won the 500 free (5:54.37).
