Volleyball season ends in regionals

ROCHESTER - The MCC volleyball team saw its season come to an end during the pool play round of the Region III, Division III tournament.

The Tribunes went 1-2 in pool play and finish the season with a record of 29-14.

MCC fell to Broome CC in the opener, 23-25, 28-26, 19-25.  The Tribunes then lost three to host Niagara County CC 14-25, 17-25, 16-25.

Monroe rebounded to top Jamestown 25-22, 25-27, 25-20, but it wasn't enough to advance the team to tomorrow's semifinals.

Paige Calabrese (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) tallied 49 digs and was named to the All-Tournament team.  Kelsi Blum (Livonia, NY/Livonia) chipped win with 31 kills on the day.
