Win streak hits 11 for Lady Tribs
ROCHESTER - A huge second half propelled the MCC women;s basketball team to a 77-50 victory over visiting Mercyhurst North East on Monagan Court Thursday evening.
The game was tied at 24 at the break before the Tribunes (16-3) outscored the Saints 53-26 over the final 20 minutes. The win was the 11th in a row for Monroe.
Sehmonyeh Allen (Freehold, NJ/Neptune) sparked the rally, connecting on four of her five 3's in the second half. The sophomore finished with a game-high 22 points.
Ayana Bradley (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) played another solid all-around game, compiling 15 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Ivory James (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) and Shan-tasia Padgett (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark) both hit double figures as well, finishing with 13 and 11 points respectively. Padgett also added four assists and three steals.
MCC held Mercyhurst to 28 percent shooting on the night and outrebounded the Saints 45-28.
