MCC falls in first round

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The MCC women's soccer team fell 4-1 to Darton College in the opening round of the NJCAA Division I national tournament Thursday afternoon.

The sixth-seeded Tribunes fall to 16-5-2 with the defeat. Darton improves to 17-2-2.  MCC will take on Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa (13-5-1) at 10 a.m. Friday morning.

The Cavaliers jumped on top with two first-half goals and controlled the tempo for much of the game. 

The Tribunes cut the lead in half less than two minutes into the second half, as Annie Terilli (Brockport, NY/Brockport) converted a penalty kick to make it 2-1.

Darton, however, responded with two more goals to put the game away.
