Meet the Coaches

Head coach: Robb DiGiacomo

(12th year; 376-110)

Entering his 12th year, Robb DiGiacomo has been one of the most successful junior college softball coaches in the nation during his time at Monroe Community College.  He has guided the MCC softball team to three National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national championships in the past five years and has been named National Coach of the Year three times.

 

DiGiacomo led the Tribunes to another fantastic season in 2010.  The team finished 46-15, won regionals for the fifth straight year, and finished runner-up at the national tournament.  He was named the Region III Coach of the Year.

 

Coach DiGiacomo has compiled a 376-110 record in 11 years as MCC head coach, including an incredible 221-47 mark over the past five seasons.  The 2007 season will go down as one of the best in NJCAA history.  The Tribunes finished with a 52-2 record, led the nation with a .454 team batting average, and ended the season on a 35-game winning streak.  DiGiacomo, along with assistants Chuck Sciortino and Paul Ruggeri were named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Coaching Staff of the Year.

 

Coach DiGiacomo conducts numerous camps and clinics with local softball players and is also involved with officiating.  He has been a basketball official for 25 years, including 15 at the NCAA Division I level.  He has also spent 20 years officiating soccer and softball.  Robb also works for the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Services Office.
