Academic Support Service

From admission to graduation, you are urged to take full advantage of the services MCC offers in response to our concern for each individual's academic and personal welfare. Assistance is available to any student with concerns about choosing a curriculum, selecting courses, arranging for financial assistance, exploring future educational and career options, participating in co-curricular activities, and working out personal problems.

Students are assured full access to College resources, and are encouraged to consult with faculty and staff concerning any problems or needs affecting their intellectual, social, physical, or emotional development.

 

Student Accounts Office

You will think of the Bursar Office each time you get your tuition bill. A tuition due date is printed on your bill and you need to make financial arrangements with this office by that due date. They have different payment options and plans to help make tuition payment convenient for students. Your Certificate of Residency is also turned into the Bursar each academic year.

Counseling and Advising Center

A variety of services are provided by the Counseling and Testing Center including:

  • Assistance for hearing impaired students and students with other disabilities, program changes

Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

The EOP program is designed for students who are academically and financially disadvantaged with potential for success. This office provides eligible students all-in-one support - financial, counseling, tutorial services, mentoring, study skills classes, career counseling and workshops.

 

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office is committed to assisting students and their families find financial resources to successfully afford the cost of going to college. To accomplish this, the MCC Financial Aid Office offers a variety of services, including workshops, web resources, and in person or telephone student assistance.

The website offers a step by step application process, links to applications and forms, and a number of resources. All students who apply for financial aid are expected to use their MCC e-mail address for communications, and will be able to check their information and awards on line using the Banner self service system.

All questions that cannot be answered with the available resources about financial aid should be directed to the experts in this office as each student presents a different set of circumstances.

 

Student Health Services

The Health Services staff provides:

  • Nursing assessment of illness or injury
  • Health education and Health promotion services,
  • Health care referrals to community agencies
  • Information regarding accident/sickness insurance coverage
  • NYS immunization requirement compliance.

Leroy V. Good Library

The Leroy V. Good Library, named for the first president of the College, is open to the entire college community. Library resources include:

Public Safety & Parking

The Department of Public Safety is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment through the delivery of quality security and safety services, complimented by a wide array of prevention programs. Public Safety Officers patrol the campus 24 hours a day on three different shifts. Although each individual is ultimately responsible for his or her own personal safety, by learning and practicing basic safety and security precautions, each individual will help make MCC a safer place to live and learn. The mission of the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development is to round out the student's educational experience with out of classroom activities and experiences. The Campus Center is the "Hearthstone" of Monroe Community College's Brighton Campus. It provides places for students, faculty and staff to get together for both formal and informal activities. Students will find opportunities to put their classroom education to practical use and leave with the experiences future employers are looking for.

MCC boasts one of the most successful community college athletic programs in the country. Our teams have consistently won both national and regional championships. Check out what our intercollegiate athletic program has to offer.

In addition to our excellent intercollegiate program, MCC also has an active intramural sports program and has open recreation hours in its facilities. The Building 10 Athletic Complex also houses the Human Performance Lab, a fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment and machines.

 

MCC Child Care Center

The MCC Child Care Center was created to provide high quality childcare services primarily to the children of MCC students, along with faculty and staff. The center accepts children between the ages of 8 weeks and 5 years old on a full and part-time basis.
